Volkswagen has confirmed the Vibe E-Golos will get an interior refresh this year, with the most significant changes likely to be a revamped powertrain.
The E-Gs are expected to be offered in a range of colour options, including black, grey and red, and the company is looking to make the new E-Bowl a more accessible option.
Speaking to Autocar, Volkswagen boss Matthias Müller said the new model would include the following improvements:The new model will be offered with a 6.5-litre V8 engine, and while the new Vibe model has been designed for comfort, the next model will also feature a new powertrain, with a twin-turbocharged four-cylinder engine, said the boss.
The company also said the next Vibe will also get a new, much more modern, colour palette, which will feature an additional grey and black trim option.
“This will be an interesting new design, we’ve never done this before,” Müller told Autocars.
“This is a very exciting new model.
The new Vibes look fantastic and are very different from the old ones.
This is a great step for our brand and for the future of the brand.”VW said the upcoming model would have the same powertrain as the current model, but that it would be able to go from 0 to 100km/h in about 6.6 seconds.
The new Viberas will come standard with a range-topping 5.5 litre V6 engine, along with an optional 7.0 litre Turbo Diesel V8 that will power the car in a top speed of 330km/hr.
The new models will be available in Europe from April 2019, with Germany set to follow suit in March 2020.
